Our Work in China
Today, most people living in rural China still use pit latrines as their toilet solution. Eliminating these unsanitary and hazardous latrines in rural China is a government priority, supported by state subsidies. To receive government funding, all households in a village must agree to upgrade their toilet solutions, and the subsidy is then provided per family that wishes to install a toilet.
Since fall 2019, we have delivered 2,000 toilets. Hundreds of families in Shanxi province, northern China, have now installed a Separett Villa in their homes.
In 2019, Separett AB CEO Mikael and Separett Inc. President Jyri visited some of the families in China who had installed the first toilets. The images below were taken in the village of Yingzhuang, where every family has a Separett Villa. Knowing that our products make these families’ daily lives more comfortable brings us immense joy.
