FAQ Weekend Prime

Frequently asked questions about Weekend Prime

What is Separett Weekend Prime?

Separett Weekend Prime is a standalone, urine-separating waterless toilet designed for short-term and occasional use. It is particularly suitable for shelters, hunting cabins, temporary installations, and other places where a simple and portable toilet solution is needed.

The toilet separates urine and solid waste directly in the seat, helping keep the toilet more comfortable to use while simplifying waste handling.

Does the toilet require electricity?

No. Separett Weekend Prime does not require electricity. It works entirely without power.

Does it require ventilation?

No. The toilet does not require a ventilation pipe or electrical fan. Odor control is instead managed through the separation of liquids and solids together with the use of a bulking material for the solid waste.

Does it require water or a sewer connection?

No. Separett Weekend Prime is completely waterless and does not need to be connected to plumbing or a sewer system.

How does the urine separation work?

The toilet separates liquids and solids at the source. Urine is directed to a dedicated container located inside the toilet, while solid waste falls into a separate container.

This separation helps reduce moisture in the solid waste and improves overall comfort during use.

How is urine handled?

Urine is collected directly in a container inside the toilet. There is no hose or external connection required.

For improved odor control, the use of Separett Drain Cleaner tablets in the urine container is recommended.

How are odors controlled?

Odor control is achieved through two main factors: urine separation and the use of a bulking material for the solid waste.

A dry bulking medium such as coco coir should be added after each use. This helps absorb moisture, improve the composting conditions in the solid container, and reduce odors.

What happens to the solid waste?

Solid waste is collected in a container inside the toilet using a liner or bag. A small amount of bulking material, such as coco coir, should be added after use to help control moisture and odor.

When the container is full, it can be removed and emptied according to local waste handling practices.

Does the toilet have a full indicator?

No. Separett Weekend Prime does not have an automatic full indicator like the Separett Tiny. The user needs to check the containers manually and empty them when necessary.

How often do the containers need to be emptied?

The emptying frequency depends on the number of users and how often the toilet is used. With two users, the typical emptying intervals are:

  • Urine container: approximately every other day
  • Solid waste container: approximately once per week

These intervals are approximate and may vary depending on usage. Because Separett Weekend Prime does not have a full indicator, the containers should be checked manually and emptied when needed.

What type of locations is Weekend Prime best suited for?

Separett Weekend Prime is best suited for short-term or occasional use, such as:

  • Hunting trips
  • Shelters and outdoor cabins
  • Temporary installations
  • Remote camps
  • Emergency or backup sanitation situations

It provides a simple, reliable toilet solution in places where installing a permanent toilet system is not practical.
